Adventure North Australia – 1 Day Cooktown 4WD Adventure

Locally owned and operated Adventure North operates 4WD tours from Cairns and Port Douglas to Cooktown, taking in history, botany and adventure whilst marvelling at World Heritage rainforest and stunning outback.

Their full 1 day Cooktown 4WD adventure (departing Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) travels one of the most scenic coastal routes in Australia.

The tour takes in the Wold Heritage listed Daintree National Park, the famous Bloomfield track, the Black Mountain, Cooktown and the outback of Tropical North Queensland.

Morning tea is included as well as lunch at an Aussie pub.

This tour will be a highlight for guests given the diverse experiences it has to offer.

Wait-A-While Rainforest & Wildlife Tours

This tour is a great option for guests day of arrival or the next day as it leaves in the afternoon.

The tour explores the Tablelands region venturing into the world’s oldest tropical rainforest and discovering a plethora of wildlife not only during the daylight but at night as well.

Apart from learning about rare and unusual Australian wildlife you will learn about the vegetation and how it was used by the Aboriginal people.

The tour includes afternoon tea at volcanic crater lake, Lake Barrine and dinner at a country restaurant in Yungaburra.

This is an ideal tour for nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts, independent travellers and families.

Billy Tea Safaris – 1 Day Chillagoe Caves and Outback Tour

The outback of Tropical North Queensland is a sight to behold and one trip that an overseas traveller shouldn’t miss.

This tour operates Monday, Wednesday and Friday and departs at 6.45am from Cairns.

Driving through the McAllister Ranges and up and across The Great Dividing Range there are many stops to view the wildlife, including Emu, Wedge Tailed Eagles, Kangaroos, Frill Necked Lizards and Wallaby’s just to name a few.

The tour visits the township of Chillago, where guests will tour a giant smelter and have lunch at an outback Aussie pub. Then on to venture through limestone caves that are four hundred million years old.

Before heading back to Cairns guests discover the wonder of the Chillagoe-Mungana National Park visiting the famous Balancing Rock and an Aboriginal Rock Art Site.

This full day tour concludes at approximately 6.30pm in Cairns.

Haggerstone Island Resort

This is a true Robinson Crusoe experience.

The all-inclusive boutique resort situated on the Great Barrier Reef offers guests barefoot luxury while experiencing the activities and adventures that set the island apart. Some of the experiences included in the accommodation cost are fishing, snorkelling, spearfishing, beach combing, gourmet meals and daily ocean safaris.

The island has 4 huts in total being able to accommodate up to 14 people.

House Mawu has 3 bedrooms, Beach Hut has 2 bedrooms and Lagoon and Kwila Huts both are 1 bedrooms.

Each day is tailored to suit the guests wishes so they can be as adventurous or enjoy the relaxation that island life has to offer.
